Watch a short video to learn more about Judge Liu
Hello and thank you for visiting my website.
I am a Cook County Circuit Court Judge serving in the Chancery Division at the Richard J. Daley Center, where I am responsible for over 7,000 cases.
Even though I bring 19 years of experience as a litigation attorney to the bench, I still learn something new about the law every day. Making a fair and impartial decision based on the law and the facts of a case is a requirement of my job, but it is only part of my responsibility as a judge. Equally important is my personal commitment to serve with integrity, diligence, and humanity.
The courtroom in which I work is not mine, it is the people’s – a belief that I am mindful of every time I hear a case. Each person who appears before me is entitled to fairness, impartiality, and transparency. For many, it is their first, and may be their only, experience with a court. It is important for our democracy and the legitimacy of our legal system that they feel they were treated with courtesy and respect.
It is a tremendous honor and privilege to serve the people of Cook County. They expect and deserve nothing less than courts committed to safeguarding the right of all to receive equal treatment under the law. I ask for your support in the March 20, 2012 primary election for my candidacy in the Judgeship “A” vacancy – the seat that I currently hold. Thank you.
